Capt Kamal is a Singaporean maritime professional with over 20 years of industry experience spanning shipboard operations, offshore services in the oil and gas sector, and maritime safety management. He currently serves at the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), where he supports applied research and innovation efforts for Vessel Traffic Information Systems (VTIS), oversees governance and compliance through ISO management and SOP reviews, and drives operational assurance, data stewardship, and business continuity planning. As a key liaison between VTIS operations and technical stakeholders, he ensures that operational requirements are effectively integrated into complex maritime systems. Prior to MPA, Kamal held senior roles at CMA CGM and Bourbon Offshore Asia, specialising in marine safety, dynamic positioning, and quality management systems.
